Alana’s previous research centred on the role of faith in guiding Christian organisations in their interactions with transformative concepts of humanitarianism. Her doctoral research interrogated the role of faith in shaping identity and practice for humanitarian actors. She focused particularly on the potential tensions between secular and religious understandings of ‘good’ humanitarianism.
