    Project Details

    Description

The purpose of the project is to provide an informed evaluation of how a rising China will transform the security of East Asia and to assess the scope to shape the impact that China will have in ways beneficial to Australia. The project will involve assessing China’s aspirations, and the opportunities, constraints and risks that it perceives in advancing these aspirations. It will also involve assessing how others, notably the states of Southeast Asia, view China’s rise in security terms. These assessments will assist Australian policy makers, industry leaders and the informed public to arrive at balanced judgments on the implications of China’s rise.
