Australia Debates the South China Sea: Is there a Third Way?

    Research output: Book/ReportCommissioned report

    Abstract

ò òThere are clear ‘America-first’ and ‘Australia-first’ camps within the Australian debate over the South China Sea. ò ò òA third-way, ‘Asia-First’ approach with other middle powers – Indonesia and Republic of Korea – could be an advantageous, fresh approach. òThis approach would focus on pressuring China and other claimants plus key states to address and resolve, not just manage, regional tension.
