    Abstract

This book provides 11 essays by authoritative researchers on the topic of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) and its implications for Southeast Asia. The essays provide a useful perspective on the evolution of the CPTPP, its implications for Southeast Asia, and some of the conundrums associated with the integration of regional priorities with the global trading system. The region is depicted as having a continuing interest in regional economic integration with ASEAN as its key focal point, but without the positive effects that could have accrued from conclusion of the Doha Development Round of multilateral trade negotiations.
