    Abstract

When archaeologists in Australia study stone tools, we tend to place them into two different categories: stone for flaking and stone for grinding. Flaked stone carries out the same range of tasks as knives and blades in contemporary society. This pamphlet concentrates on grinding materials and in particular, the grinding stones of the Lachlan Valley.
