    Abstract

    This volume contains papers describing and discussing language documentation and cultural practices in Austronesian languages. The issues discussed include language description, vitality and endangerment, community partnerships in language revitalisation and dictionary making, language maintenance of transmigrants, documenting and archiving verbal arts, traditional music and songs, cultural aspects in translation and politeness.
