Abstract
we are witnessing today processes that continuously challenge the liberal world order under American leadership . One of the factors in this questioning is the obvious discrepancy between the increasing geographical, functional and normative ambitions of international society and the (institutional) capacity to implement them. This is particularly true for the reference institutions of the system: IMF, World Bank, GATT / WTO, United Nations, including specialized programs and agencies. Tackling the challenge faced by international organizations in the wider context of questioning the western order makes it possible to better understand what constitutes the central research question of my analysis: under what conditions cooperation is possible in an order in transition?
