Marshall D. Sahlins: A Personal Tribute

    Research output: Contribution to journalArticle

    Abstract

Marshall Sahlins was a remarkable anthropologist and a remarkable individual. For me, he was the epitome of a good anthropologist: he set no boundaries to his anthropological investigations. Intellectually, he roamed widely and whatever he wrote, he regarded as pertinently anthropological. As an individual, he was energetic and engaging, offering surprising insights with doses of humour and the occasional touch of irony.
