    Abstract

From 2006, the Research Centre for the Prehistory Archaeological Heritage (CEPAP-UAB) have been conducting survey program at La Noguera region (Lleida, Spain), focused at obtaining new data regarding the occupation of this region from 50,000 years ago. Our research have documented a large amount of new open air and rock shelter human settlements, suggesting a first occupation of the region around 125,000 BP which continues until nowadays. This papers presents a general review of the new archaeological sites documented, as well as presenting a new archaeological site, Abric Pizarro, dated to ca. 60,000 years ago, comprising the oldest evidence of Neanderthal occupation in La Noguera.
