This is an interview article invited by the editor of the Journal Nanfang Wenwu (Relics from South, Rank A Journal of Chinese Archaeology in China). It contained 12 questions asked by Hung about Prof Bellwood's student life, research career and current works. During the interview, Prof Bellwood talked about his study of ancient Austronesian migration, the development and testing of the "language-farming dispersal hypothesis", and the significance of Neolithic farmers in world-wide perspective. He also gave some advice for students who are interested to study archaeology.
