Abstract
his article looks at Ravidās in the Gurū Granth by first exploring the issues of who Ravidās was and how his verses came to be recorded in the Gurū Granth and in other sources. It then looks at the content of his teachings in the Gurū Granth and the views of others in the Gurū Granth on the importance of Ravidās and his teachings. Finally, it looks at how traditions about the life of Ravidās grew over time in Punjab and the role that Ravidās and his compositions in the Gurū Granth have come to play in the lives of his followers today.
