    Abstract

    This chapter traces the changes in the public displays of the Japanese midget submarine between 1942 and 2010 in Australia and argues that these shifts had close relationship with the changes in Australian memories of war during the past 60 years. The chapter also discuss the aftermath of the Sydney attack and return of the Japanese submariners' ashes to Japan in 1942.
